NRA BASICS OF PISTOL SHOOTING PHASE 2 CLASS
This course is an NRA Instructor-led class which is 8 hours long and requires a range qualification the same day. The NRA Basics of Pistol Shooting is a two-part course consisting of an online portion (completed online-in your own time frame) and a hands-on practical portion conducted at a range under the guidance and supervision of an NRA-Certified Instructor. The course is intended for all adults regardless of previous shooting experience or NRA-affiliation. Some of the topics in the course includes but is not limited to: gun safety rules, proper operation of revolvers and semi-automatic pistols, ammunition knowledge and selection, selecting and storing a pistol, the fundamentals of shooting, and pistol inspection and maintenance. 20 HOUR BASIC SECURITY TRAINING COURSE
The 20 hour basic security training course is taught to all who wish to become a security officer with a licensed agency within this state. The course takes three days and the class duration is eight hours for the first two days and four hours on the third day. Students are required to bring writing utensils and a notepad for class.
COST: $65.00 PLUS state fees for fingerprint and PERC license.
ILLINOIS CONCEALED CARRY COURSE (NOT AVAILABLE UNTIL 01 MARCH 2017)
The Illinois concealed carry course is a 16 hour course which includes the laws provisioned under 430 ILCS 66/75 and other laws and principles. There will be a range qualification on the second day of training in which the students must pass. There are 3 options for which payments are due:
Option 1: For students who are Active, Reserve or Retired military, NRA Basics of pistol shooting phase 2 certificate holder, UTAH conceal carry licensees, or Florida Conceal carry licensees. Applicants must bring proof of completion of these courses or their DD-214. These applicants will take a MANDATORY 8 hour class plus range qualification.
Option 2: For security personnel who have armed training and inactive firearms control card. Applicants must show proof of armed training. These applicants will take a MANDATORY 12 hour class plus range qualification.
Option 3: For the general public. Must be a FOID card holder.

BASIC BATON HANDLING COURSE
The Basic Baton Handling Course is an 8 hour course specifically designed to teach security and military personnel how to properly use and handle the expandable baton while on duty. This class includes video recording, hands on training and a 10 point multiple choice written exam that must be passed at 100 percent. This certification can be used anywhere for eligibility to carry an expandable baton for security and military personnel only.

BASIC SPEED HANDCUFFING COURSE
The Basic Speed Handcuffing Course is an 8 hour class that trains all security and military personnel on how to properly use handcuffs and when to use them. This course will consist of video training and hands on training as well as a 10 point multiple choice written examination which must be passed with 100 percent. This certification can be used anywhere for eligibility to carry handcuffs on duty for all security and military personnel.

BASIC 40 HOUR ARMED SECURITY COURSE

SELF DEFENSE TRAINING
APD offers self defense classes, which anyone (seeking employment or not) can attend. For more information on this training and fees, call 872-808-0208.
APD BASIC OFFICER COURSE
Every officer hired by American Public Defense must attend the 2-week Basic Officer Course. This Training includes Speed Handcuff training, Baton Handling training, Self-defense training and basic officer's knowledge of the Illinois Compiled Statutes. This training will be rigorous and long, but in turn will keep officers disciplined, trained, certified and ready to better serve the public.
